Proteas are part of what makes the Cape Floristic Biome unique. Cecil John Rhodes is part of what makes the memorial above UCT unique. The unique combination provides a breath-taking backdrop for a beautiful plant, Protea repens.
Cecil John Rhodes experienced the Cape natural vegetation that we do today. His memorial statue will continue to experience that natural wonder too, long after we are gone. That timelessness of nature is what makes it so wonderful. One of the Cape’s rarities that Cecil and ourselves can appreciate is the magnificent Protea repens.
